Mothers Artlovers is a collective of visual artists, theorists, curators and activists, as well as mothers, that responds to the specific experiences, problems and needs of mothers and caregivers functioning in the art community. In addition to supporting each other and mapping art that focuses on parenthood, the group also addresses the political and institutional side of the issue. The goal of Mothers Artlovers is to create an art world that is more attuned to the needs of parents and caregivers, as well as others who need it. Since the group's formation, the collective has managed to gain an influential voice in the Czech art field, and its members Darina Alster and Kača Olivová run the Mothers Artlovers studio at the Academy of Fine Arts (AVU) in Prague. The establishment of a kindergarten at the university is also one of the manifestations of the changes that have been taking place in this area for several years. At the "Deschool!" exhibition, as in other art institutions, they create a friendly space for meetings, workshops and discussions with the public that are an integral part of their art practice.
"Emotional Resonance of the Body" is a community process of engaging with what can be learned from wounds. We are invited to participate in telling and listening to stories together about wounds and being wounded, and to join in performing simple choreographic gestures that embody both the wounds and our response to them. The workshop should bring out the commonality of our emotional bodies.
Audience: We are targeting the event to interested people of all ages, activists (especially mothers, but anyone who is interested)
The workshop accompanies the exhibition "Deschool!"
